Hear from a panel of men and women who discuss mentoring/having mentors of different genders to learn the importance of new perspectives.

Naveen Mehta, Founder and Principal Trainer, CulturWorks | Growth Strategies | Building Cultures that Work

General Counsel and Director, Human Rights, Equity and Diversity, United Food & Commercial Workers Canada

Naveen has two passions – the law and helping build workplaces that work! He is a Global Diversity and Inclusion Strategist and speaker at his consultancy, CulturWorks Growth Strategies. Naveen is regularly engaged to train and speak to diverse audiences on diversity and inclusion, with a focus on legal profession, law firms, legal departments and companies across Canada, the US, and around the globe. Naveen is the Diversity Coach and columnist for Canadian Lawyer Magazine, the North American Content Expert on Diversity and Inclusion for the ILO, and a Policy Fellow with the Broadbent Institute.

As General Counsel, Chief Legal Officer and National Director of Human Rights, Equity, and Diversity to one of Canada’s largest private sector unions – UFCW Canada, Naveen provides a diverse range of preemptive strategic advice and comprehensive support for all of the UFCW Canada’s often complex and high profile legal and legislative issues, including litigation at the Courts of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.

Erin Elofson, Group Lead, Facebook Canada

As the national lead for the Financial Services, Technology and Media, and Travel and Tourism verticals at Facebook Canada (and acting lead of the CPG and Automotive verticals), Erin reports to the Country Director and leads an organization of teams that develop innovative partnerships with Canada’s leading companies to accelerate their growth. Building on her passion for technology and our transition to a mobile-first world, Erin and her teams collaborate with Canadian business leaders on how to use Facebook’s platforms to grow their businesses domestically and internationally.

Previous to Facebook, Erin was the global lead for Microsoft’s partnership with BMO Financial Group. She also led the transformation of Microsoft Canada’s national partnership with HP Canada, spanning both organizations’ respective software, hardware, and consulting businesses. Erin also has a significant track record in product management across many infrastructure and productivity technology portfolios.

In 2008, Erin earned a M.A. at York University with a specialization in Technology in Practice, completing a thesis on media choice theory.

Jenna Kellner Izraelski, Senior Growth Marketer, RBC Ventures

Jenna Kellner Izraelski is a Senior Growth Marketer at RBC Ventures and was recognized by the WXN in 2017 as one of the Top 100 Women in Canada. With experience in Tech, FI, and Not-for-Profit, Jenna has led marketing for a broad spectrum of products and services spanning new product launches, large-scale B2B software sales, and national not-for-profit campaigns and programs.

The tie and key to her success has been her strong belief in tightly coupled sales/marketing/product teams as the key for growth, no matter the business, and developing and positively challenging the people she works with. Jenna is known for her energy, honesty, motivation towards audacious goals, attention to detail and service, and her commitment to follow-through.

Passionate about giving back, Jenna spends her spare time as an active volunteer and board member with different community organizations and by mentoring and coaching young professionals in their career journeys.

Tal is an exceptional, authentic leader with more than 30 years of successful team and organizational leadership expertise. Tal has held senior positions with companies from pre-revenue stages to enterprises with more than $1 billion in revenue. Throughout his career he has focused on developing the team as the key to success. While it is important to acknowledge the importance of great execution of a strong strategy, without considering the resources required to execute the strategy an organization is doomed to fail…at least that is his perspective.

As the CEO of Pathway Communications, Tal is leading the organization through unprecedented change by re-vectoring the company from an Internet Service Provider to becoming a premiere Managed Services Provider. This transformation is focused on developing the key resources in the company while setting the standard for client service in the industry.
